Protecting children is an important priority for everyone at Algeria VFS. We believe in transparency and giving parents the information they need to determine what is best for their child. We work hard to offer controls for parents that are intuitive and customizable. Where Algeria VFS services are accessed on behalf of a minor, parents or legal guardians are responsible for reviewing, submitting, and managing the child’s application and related personal data. Any personal data collected for minors is processed solely for lawful visa, travel, or identity-verification purposes and in accordance with applicable data-protection laws. Algeria VFS does not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without appropriate parental or legal guardian authorization. Controls and safeguards are in place to ensure that children’s data is handled with heightened care, confidentiality, and security.

PRIOR TO PURCHASE OR DOWNLOAD BY YOUR CHILD, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED PARENTS AND GUARDIANS TO REVIEW THE TERMS, POLICIES, AND PRACTICES OF SUCH THIRD-PARTY APPS & PLATFORMS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT DATA THEY MAY COLLECT FROM YOUR CHILD AND HOW SUCH DATA MAY BE USED.

Parents or legal guardians retain primary responsibility for reviewing, submitting, and approving all information provided on behalf of a child. Children’s personal data is processed strictly for lawful visa, travel, identity verification, and compliance purposes, in accordance with applicable data-protection laws.
ALGERIA VFS DOES NOT PROVIDE INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTS OR SERVICES DIRECTLY TO CHILDREN WITHOUT APPROPRIATE PARENTAL OR LEGAL GUARDIAN AUTHORIZATION. ANY THIRD-PARTY SERVICES LINKED TO OR REFERENCED THROUGH ALGERIA VFS ARE GOVERNED BY THEIR OWN TERMS AND PRIVACY POLICIES, WHICH PARENTS AND GUARDIANS SHOULD REVIEW CAREFULLY BEFORE USE.
Algeria VFS provides parents and legal guardians with appropriate controls to manage and supervise a child’s access to visa and mobility-related services. While authorized family or representative access may allow shared visibility of application information, guardians may limit or restrict a child’s interaction with certain services where required.
These controls enable parents and legal guardians to:
ALL ACTIONS TAKEN ON BEHALF OF A CHILD REMAIN SUBJECT TO PARENTAL OR LEGAL GUARDIAN CONSENT. ALGERIA VFS DOES NOT PERMIT INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS, APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS, OR SERVICE UPGRADES FOR MINORS WITHOUT VERIFIED AUTHORIZATION FROM A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN.
Algeria VFS provides parents and legal guardians with mechanisms to manage and limit a child’s access to visa-related digital services when applications are submitted or managed on their behalf.
Guardians may set and enforce controls that allow them to:
WHERE ACCESS RESTRICTIONS ARE ENABLED, ANY OVERRIDE OR MODIFICATION REQUIRES VERIFIED PARENTAL OR LEGAL GUARDIAN AUTHORIZATION. ALL ACCESS-CONTROL DATA IS PROCESSED SECURELY AND USED SOLELY TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE, TRANSPARENCY, AND RESPONSIBLE SERVICE USE.
Algeria VFS allows parents and legal guardians to apply restrictions on a child’s access to visa-related digital services and application features.
Through these controls, guardians may:
THESE RESTRICTIONS PLAY AN ESSENTIAL ROLE IN ENSURING RESPONSIBLE USE OF ALGERIA VFS SERVICES. GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR APPLYING AND MAINTAINING APPROPRIATE CONTROLS FOR EACH ACCOUNT OR PLATFORM THROUGH WHICH A CHILD ACCESSES ALGERIA VFS SERVICES.
Algeria VFS enables parents and legal guardians to manage shared access to visa services and related offerings for family members, including minors, through designated accounts.
Approval controls allow guardians to review and authorize requests made on behalf of a child, including:
FOR APPLICANTS UNDER THE APPLICABLE MINIMUM AGE DEFINED BY LAW, PARENTAL OR LEGAL GUARDIAN APPROVAL IS REQUIRED BY DEFAULT. IF A GUARDIAN CHOOSES TO DISABLE APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS, THEY WILL STILL RECEIVE TRANSACTION DETAILS THROUGH OFFICIAL RECEIPTS OR BILLING STATEMENTS ISSUED AFTER PAYMENT PROCESSING.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CERTAIN SERVICES, APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED UNDER INSTITUTIONAL AGREEMENTS, OR REQUESTS PROCESSED THROUGH AUTHORIZED PARTNERS MAY NOT BE SUBJECT TO THESE APPROVAL CONTROLS.
In order to create or manage an Algeria VFS account for a child, we must first obtain verifiable consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian under this **Family Privacy Disclosure for Children** (“Disclosure”). Algeria VFS’s Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and, in the event of any conflict, this Disclosure shall prevail.
To comply with applicable child data protection laws, including international equivalents of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Algeria VFS may take additional steps to verify that the individual granting consent is the child’s parent or legal guardian. Depending on jurisdiction, this verification may include confirmation through a valid payment method, identity verification, or other lawful authentication mechanisms.
This information is collected solely to verify parental or legal authority and to obtain consent for the collection, processing, and use of the child’s personal data in connection with visa applications and related services.
Algeria VFS will not knowingly collect, use, or disclose a child’s personal data without verifiable parental consent, unless permitted by applicable law. Once consent is provided, a child account may be created and used to access Algeria VFS services, subject to any restrictions set by the parent or guardian.
A CHILD’S ACCOUNT REMAINS UNDER PARENTAL OR GUARDIAN OVERSIGHT UNTIL THE CHILD REACHES THE LEGALLY APPLICABLE MINIMUM AGE, AT WHICH POINT THE ACCOUNT MAY BE MANAGED INDEPENDENTLY, UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY LAW. A CHILD ACCOUNT MAY NOT BE REMOVED OR TRANSFERRED WITHOUT APPROPRIATE LEGAL AUTHORIZATION OR DELETION OF THE ACCOUNT.
As part of creating and managing an Algeria VFS account for a child, a parent or legal guardian may be required to provide information necessary to process visa-related services. This information may include the child’s full name, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, contact details, account credentials, and other details required to verify identity and eligibility.
A child’s date of birth is used to determine eligibility for specific services and to apply appropriate parental controls and legal safeguards.
In certain cases, Algeria VFS may collect additional information from or about a child that is considered personal data under applicable child data protection laws COPPA. This may include technical identifiers, session data, IP address, approximate location, time zone, and records of interactions with Algeria VFS platforms, websites, or services. Such information is collected solely to support secure access, service integrity, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance.
Further details regarding the collection and use of personal data are provided in the Algeria VFS Privacy Policy.
As described in the Algeria VFS Privacy Policy, personal information relating to a child may be used to communicate essential notices, provide visa-related services and support, process applications, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Information such as a child’s age may be used to determine service eligibility, apply appropriate parental controls, and ensure that communications and processes remain age-appropriate.
Algeria VFS may also use such information for internal purposes, including security monitoring, fraud prevention, auditing, data analysis, system integrity, and service improvement.
Non-personal information—data that cannot reasonably be linked to a child’s identity—may be used, shared, or disclosed for lawful purposes, including aggregated analysis to improve platform performance, service efficiency, and user experience. Aggregated data is treated as non-personal information under this Privacy Policy.

Subject to parental or legal guardian controls, a child using an Algeria VFS account may share limited information as necessary to access and use visa-related services. Such sharing occurs only within the scope of the services enabled, the permissions granted by the parent or guardian, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
As part of family-linked account features, certain information related to a child’s Algeria VFS account—including submitted or pending applications, purchases in Algeria VFS Store, Algeria VFS Magazine, service selections, and transaction records—may be visible to authorized family members where shared access has been enabled by a parent or legal guardian.
Subject to the controls set by the parent or guardian, a child may also share limited information with family members, such as application status updates, appointment schedules, or travel-related notifications. These features are designed to support coordination and transparency within the family.
IF A CHILD ACCESSES THEIR ALGERIA VFS ACCOUNT FROM A DEVICE OWNED OR USED BY A THIRD PARTY, INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH THAT ACCOUNT—AND ANY SHARED FAMILY INFORMATION—MAY BE TEMPORARILY ACCESSIBLE ON THAT DEVICE UNTIL THE ACCOUNT IS PROPERLY SIGNED OUT. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING SECURE ACCESS AND LOGOUT WHEN THIRD-PARTY DEVICES ARE USED.
Algeria VFS may work with authorized third-party partners to deliver specific services or functionalities. For example, when a parent or legal guardian enables optional services or payment-related features for a child’s application, limited personal information may be shared with approved service providers, banks solely to deliver the requested service.
ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION RELATING TO A CHILD IS SHARED ONLY AS NECESSARY TO OPERATE, SUPPORT, SECURE, OR IMPROVE ALGERIA VFS SERVICES. ALGERIA VFS DOES NOT SHARE A CHILD’S PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES FOR ADVERTISING, MARKETING, OR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES.
Algeria VFS may share personal information with trusted service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as data processing, application handling, payment processing, customer support, system security, analytics, and service quality assessments.
THESE SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE CONTRACTUALLY REQUIRED TO PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION, INCLUDING DATA RELATING TO CHILDREN, AND MAY PROCESS SUCH INFORMATION ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALGERIA VFS’S INSTRUCTIONS AND APPLICABLE DATA PROTECTION LAWS. SERVICE PROVIDERS MAY BE LOCATED IN JURISDICTIONS WHERE ALGERIA VFS OR ITS AUTHORIZED PARTNERS OPERATE.
It may be necessary—for example, because of the law, legal process, litigation, and requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence—for Algeria VFS to disclose your or your child’s personal information. We may also disclose personal information about you or your child if we determine that, for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
WE MAY ALSO DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CHILD IF WE DETERMINE THAT DISCLOSURE IS REASONABLY NECESSARY TO ENFORCE OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS OR TO PROTECT OUR OPERATIONS OR USERS. ADDITIONALLY, IN THE EVENT OF A REORGANIZATION, MERGER, OR SALE, WE MAY TRANSFER ANY AND ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE COLLECTED TO THE RELEVANT THIRD PARTY.
